Norbert J.  Heisler
Norbert J. Heisler, 95, a resident of the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Erie on March 8, 1922 a son of the late William "Chic" and Frances Klick Heisler.

Norbert proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and went on to work at G.E. for seven years. Most recently he worked with the United States Postal Service for 33 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he was an usher, and the American Legion Carl Neff Post #571. He was a life member of the Siebenbuerger, Zukor, and Holy Trinity Clubs.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and James Heisler.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ann Livoti Heisler; one daughter, Janice Kostrzewski and her husband, Craig, of Warren; one son, Robert Heisler of Erie; three grandchildren, Gregory Weidert and his wife, Melissa, Eric Weidert, and Amy Decker and her husband, Matt; a close family friend, Diane Miller of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the prayer service there at 12:30 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. with entombment in Mary Queen of Peace Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, 16505.
