Karen L.  Frankiewicz (Kozlowski)
Karen L. Kozlowski Gronostaj Frankiewicz, 76, of Lawrence Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 13, 2018 at HCR Manor Care. She was born in Erie on October 28, 1941 a daughter of the late Harry and Esther Reszkowski Kozlowski.

Karen was a 1960 graduate of Academy High School and worked in the produce departments at several grocery stores before working at the Eastside YMCA where she cooked for the children. She spent her final years as a crossing guard in Lawrence Park, a job she truly loved. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, the VFW, and the PNA Club. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, bowling, and was best known for her pierogis.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel C. Frankiewicz; her stepson, Charles R. Frankiewicz; and her former husband, Stanley Gronostaj.

Survivors include two sons, David Gronostaj of Butler and Michael Gronostaj of Florida; one daughter, Stephanie Lewis of Erie; one stepson, Leon Frankiewicz (Stephanie) of Wichita, KS; two stepdaughters, Darlene Dinunzio and Mary Fitch (Matt), all of Erie; two brothers, David Kozlowski and James Kozlowski; three sisters, Mary Ann Kozlowski, Nancy Walters, and Emily Karekos; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Larese (Melissa), Courtney Zarnick (Dan), Cameron Gronostaj, Jenna Maynard (Jeff), Justin Fitch, Sean Frankiewicz, Troy Frankiewicz, Addison Lewis; four great grandchildren, Rhea and Isabella Fitch, Logan Larese, and Joan Maynard; special sisters in law, Jackie Vargo and Lucille Hodubski; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
