Dorothy Kornahrens Smith, 93, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at Forestview Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Charleston, SC on April 23, 1924 a daughter of the late George L. and Rosa May Kornahrens.

Dorothy worked for Kmart for over 20 years before retirement and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed square dancing with her late husband with the Squaws and Paws and Presque Isle Dancers and playing cards, especially pinochle.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Richard D. Smith and her son, David Smith.

Survivors include three sons, Steve Smith of St. Louis, MO, Brian Smith of Las Vegas, NV, and Todd Smith and his wife, Karen, of Erie; four grandchildren, Lauren, Adam, Jason and his wife,Katie, and Jeffrey and his wife, Lauren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn West and her husband, Bernard, of Charleston, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Trinity Lutheran Church, 14 E. 38th St., on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services there at 12:00 p.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
