Betty L. Burke Douglas, 81, of Waterford, passed away on Monday September 4, 2017 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness. She was born in Scranton, PA on March 11, 1936 a daughter of the late George and Ann Davis Burke.

Betty worked with Erie Insurance for a number of years and was a member of the Stancliff Hose Company Women's Auxiliary. She loved playing bingo, making and painting ceramics, and especially being with and surrounded by her loving family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Douglas; her daughter, Gayle Sager; and her sister, Margaret Finch.

Survivors include her children, Pamela Forbes (Jack) of Cartersville, GA, James Potter (Laurie) of Girard, Sanda Knoop of Lancaster, NY, Joyce Knapp (Joe) of Connecticut, Jeffrey Douglas (Melissa) of Corry, Deborah Theuret of Erie, Amy Wolff (Brian) of Waterford, and Karen Kaluzny (Michael) of Erie; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Keith Burke of North Tonawanda, NY; one sister, Nancy Jolley of Cheektowaga, NY; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Westfield Cemetery in Westfield, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Stancliff Hose Company, 328 High St., Waterford, PA, 16441.
