Lois Mae Carr Barthelmes, 76, of Erie, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Erie on January 18, 1941 a daughter of the late Willis R. Carr, Sr. and Helen M. Ferrier Carr.

Lois was a 1958 graduate of Academy High School and worked in the health care industry before working with Millcreek Family Practice for over 35 years. She was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church and attended Lowville United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Club Ladies where she joined her dear friends from high school for lunch every month and the Siebenbuerger Club. She enjoyed bowling and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert R. Barthelmes; her son in law, Joseph Ickiewicz; and her nephew, Kevin Carr.

Survivors include one son, Norbert "Chip" Barthelmes, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Columbus, OH; two daughters, Dawn Ickiewicz of Erie and Stacey Ghita of Hookset, NH; four grandchildren, Erica Lanyon (Jake), Joseph Ickiewicz, Jr. (Tiffany), and Mihaela and Matei Ghita; five great grandchildren, Colton, Wyatt, Ryan, Samantha, and Brock; one brother, Willis R. "Bill" Carr, Jr. and his wife, Trudy, of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to services there on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
