Obituary for June F. Hoovler (Smith)
June F. Smith Hoovler, 77, of Erie, passed away Monday December 5, 2022 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness. She was born in Campbells Creek, WV on March 28, 1945 a daughter of the late Leeoma Layton.
June worked as a waitress at various restaurants and enjoyed crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Hoovler; her grandson, Jose Rosario, Jr.; her great granddaughter, Gabriella Velez; and three siblings, Terry, Randy, and Linda.
Survivors include three daughters, Rose Velez (Armando) of Norfolk, VA, June Hoovler of Erie, and Jacqueline Hoovler of Erie; three sons, Paul Hoovler of Medina, OH, Douglas Hoovler (Jennifer) of Johnstown, PA, and Matthew Hoovler, Sr. of Erie; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. and are invited to services there on Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
