Obituary for William A. Gottschling

William A. Gottschling, 76, of Wattsburg, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie on July 2, 1946, a son of the late William J. and Mary Jarmolowicz Gottschling.
He married Marjorie A. Hoetzel on October 16, 1965, who survives.
William graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1964.
He served in the US Army during Vietnam, serving in the First Calvary Division.
William worked in the Maintenance Department at G.E. for 36 years until his retirement in 2000.
He was a member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, going to casinos, and going for rides. He was very proud visiting all 50 states, England, and Australia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Gottschling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Timothy Gottschling (Julie) of Greene Twp., Barry Gottschling (Tess) of Corry, and Jeffrey Gottschling ( Laurie) of Millcreek; his grandchildren, Meagan Gottschling of Corry and Katie and Tyler Gottschling of Greene Twp.; his step-grandchildren, Bethany Burlingame of Claymont, Delaware, Paul, Patrick (Sarah), and Christina Duris, all of Erie ; his step-great-grandchildren, Brooks and Brady Duris, both of Erie; his sister, Mary Ann Bottoni of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may attend a Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church at 9367 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, Pa 16509 on Tuesday at 1:30 PM. Burial will be private in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, Pa 16504.
