Obituary for Deena S. Smith (Wilson)
Deena Sue Wilson Smith,75, of Summit Township, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at LECOM Senior Living Center. She was born in Daybrook, West Virginia on October 3, 1947, a daughter of the late Blaine and Lois Yarrington Wilson.
She married Thomas E. Smith on June 4, 1966 and spent 52 years together. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2019.
Deena graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School, class of 1966.
She was a member of Summit United Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing and dancing, loved music, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Deena is preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Brooks and a brother, David Wilson.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Schott and her husband, John, of Erie; her grandchildren, Ethan and Hannah Schott of Erie; her brother, Gary Wilson of Saegertown; her sisters, Roberta Root and her husband, Harold, of Erie, Sharon Paulson and her husband, Rick, of Bemus Point, New York, and Debbie Stull and her husband, Wesley, of Waterford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, Pa 16504.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
