Scott A. Hoag, age 56, of Erie passed away unexpectedly on, Sunday, July 31, 2022, at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie, on March 2, 1966, a son of the late Merle Hoag and Nancy Price Hawkins.

Scott graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1984 and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. He received his culinary arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh. Scott worked as a cook for The Kahkwa Club and many other restaurants. He was the owner/operator of Crunch’s Pizzeria. Most recently Scott worked for Accuride Erie. Scott enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidsons and cooking. He loved his Rottweiler, Layla.

Survivors include his sister Michelle Gleba, of Erie; his brothers, Albert Hoag and his wife Sue of Erie, Merle Hoag of Albion and Dennie Hoag of North Carolina; his dear niece and nephew, Katie and Tyler; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial gathering will be held at a future date. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd.
