Obituary for Geraldine Ciesielski

Geraldine “Gerry” (DiLoreto) Ciesielski, age 90, of Erie passed away on Thursday, July 28th, 2022. She was born in Erie, PA on August 17, 1931, the youngest daughter of the late Dominick and Amelia (DePelino) DiLoreto.

Gerry was best known for her ability to make anyone laugh with an expertly crafted story or one of the many dirty jokes from her repertoire. Even in her 80s, she won nearly every round of Cards Against Humanity and could fill an entire room with laughter.

A longtime employee of The Firch Bakery Warehouse Outlet Store, one of Gerry’s greatest joys was sharing a good meal with the people she loved. Gerry also delighted in singing any chance that she could - often stealing the spotlight when local performers would visit her longtime home at the J Leonard Ostrow apartments. She also loved playing bingo and cards with friends, all while dishing out the latest gossip about her favorite show, 90-Day Fiancé.

Gerry is survived by her son Ed Ciesielski (Kathleen), her granddaughter Madeline Reigh (Kyle), many nieces and nephews, and countless beloved friends.

A very special thank you to Gerry’s niece Annette Juliano for all of the love and assistance she provided. Thank you for brightening her days.

Funeral service and entombment will be private at Mary Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd.
