Obituary for Mary T. Dance (Sitzler)
Mary T. Sitzler Dance, 74, of Erie, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday June 8, 2022. She was born in Erie on May 17, 1948 a daughter of the late Vincent Sitzler and Hazel Davies Sitzler Burke.
Mary worked in various roles, including Youth Director, for the Mercy Center for Women and most recently cooked in the St. Joseph Bread of Life Church rectory. She was an active member of St. Joseph Bread of Life Church and belonged to the Healing Prayer Team. She was co-founder of Chemically Dependent Teenagers Anonymous (CDTA) and enjoyed painting, cooking, and her dogs.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Frederick "Fritz" Sitzler, and her stepfather, Donald J. Burke.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine Dance (John Brookhouser), of Erie; two sons, Gary Dance, Jr. (Vivien Mesina) of Ambler, PA and Ernest Dance of W. Palm Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Zachary Dance (Bronwyn), and Kayleigh, Olivia, and Alexander Dance; one great grandchild, Maverick; her sister, Janice Radomski, of Erie; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including Darlene Arndt.
Friends may call at St. Joseph Bread of Life Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, 16504.
