Evelyn D. Polatas, 90, of Erie, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Sarah Reed Senior Living. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa on November 14, 1931, a daughter of the late John and Dora Kernicky Fritz.
She married Robert M. Polatas on April 18,1958. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2020.
Evelyn graduated from Hampton High School of North Hills, Pa in 1949.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and was a lover of nature and animals.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Edward Fritz; a sister, Virginia Pianka; and her beloved dog, Abby.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffery Polatas of Erie and Michael Polatas of Orlando, Fl; two daughters, Holly Polatas of Pittsburgh, Pa and Tami DeRaimo and her husband, Paul of Erie; and a grandson, Randy Polatas of Gastonia, North Carolina.
Funeral services and burial were private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Erie Cemetery.
