Obituary for Frank W. Adameck

Frank Walter Adameck, age ­­96 of Erie, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on May 27, 2022.

He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on September 1, 1925. He was the son of the late Andrew and Sophie (Wytosick) Adameck. Frank married the love of his life, Doris Marie Jones Adameck on May 7, 1949.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, married 65 years. He was the last surviving sibling of eight children.

Survived by his children: Charles (Diane) Adameck, Christine (Phil) Strand, Linda (David) Bemiss, Paul (Ann-Marie) Adameck, Donna (Gerry) Duma; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.

Frank served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and retired from General Electric in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was a long-standing member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, was an usher and he also served on the Men’s Council for many years. He belonged to the Siebenbuerger Singers and participated as a Siebenbuerger singer. He could fix anything with duct tape and tar. He was an avid bowler, horse-shoe pitcher, walker, and harmonica player. His love of fishing led him to his favorite fishing “holes” Broken Straw Creek and Lake Pleasant! He loved his garden and he could tell you how to grow “good” tomatoes!! He was proud of his Polish heritage and always enjoyed his annual Christmas Eve dinner of ham, polish sausage and homemade pierogis.

There will be a private funeral mass for immediate family members. Burial will be in Mary, Queen, of Peace Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, PA 16504.
