Obituary for Richard J. Wright Jr.
Richard J. Wright, Jr., 63, of Wattsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday April 18, 2022 following a courageous 25 year battle with cancer. He was born in Erie on April 21, 1958 a son of Donna Reinwald Wright and the late Richard J. Wright.
Rick graduated from Seneca High School where he was a standout football player and had his #48 jersey retired. He worked as a painter at GE and was an avid bow hunter. He enjoyed fishing, coaching his daughters' softball teams, and his cats. He played softball in the South Erie County League for many years and was a fan of Penn State wrestling, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Staci Loper Wright; two daughters, Jenna and Haylee Wright, both of Wattsburg; three sisters, Lynne Wright (Jacquelyn Glass) of Erie, Laurie Thompson (Norm) of Waterford, and Lisa Pusateri (Sam) of Wattsburg; two nephews, Levi and Tory Pusateri; and one niece, Macy Pusateri.
Funeral services were private. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the St. Boniface Ushers Club, 8911 Wattsburg Rd, Erie, PA 16509.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
