Obituary for Hazel McDowell (Tripp)
Hazel M. Tripp McDowell, 70, of Erie, passed away on Thursday January 27, 2022 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in 1951 in Washington, NC a daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Sawyer Tripp.
Hazel worked as a cook supervisor at St. Mary's Asbury Ridge for 11 years and enjoyed playing bingo.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris, Linda, and Brenda.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E. McDowell; three daughters, Tammy Johnston of Erie, Laura Turnage (James) of New Bern, NC, and Heaven Buck of Erie; three sons, Joseph Rosenquest (Julie) of Erie, Kenneth Rosenquest (Crystal) of Dunn, NC, and David Rosenquest (Stefanie) of Johnsonburg, PA; two sisters, Grace Edwards and Roberta Barnes (Jesse), all of New Bern, NC; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of services there at 5 p.m. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery in Titusville.
