Obituary for Walter Farak

Walter Farak, age 94, of Greene Township, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Sarah Reed Senior Living. He was born in Union City, PA, on June 11, 1927, a son of the late Stanley and Margaret Pituch Farak.

Walter served in the United States Army Air Forces and worked for General Electric for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Boniface Church. Walter enjoyed gardening, model airplanes, playing pinochle, and dancing the Polka.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Krol, Anna Zajac, and Helen Farak; his brothers, Stanley Farak and Thomas Farak; his grandson, Ethan Otto; and his son-in-law, Joseph Capone.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Rose Leto Farak; his six children, Kathryn Capone, of Wexford, PA, Natalie Quigley (Dan), of Wattsburg, Walter “Wally” Farak, of Gilbert, AZ, Carolyn Zaborowski (John), of Wattsburg, Melissa Otto (Dave), of Mars, PA, and Anita Jares (John), of Wind Lake, WI; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Helen Bevilacqua; and nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Church on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mount of Olives Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Boniface Church.
