Marilyn "Mert" May Turner, 80, of Greene Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 28, 2021 at Golden Living Walnut Creek. She was born in Erie on May 2, 1941 a daughter of the late Wallace and Irene Shattuck May.
Mert graduated from Wattsburg Area High School in 1961 and worked for the Wattsburg School District. Most recently she worked as a housemaid for Scott Enterprises. She was a member of Lake Pleasant United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and chaperoning for the Seneca High School Band. Mert was a people person who loved to chat with friends and strangers alike.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, DuWayne Turner; one sister, Susan Zielinski of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Dr. George May (Linda) of Wattsburg and James May (Freda) of Harborcreek; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services there at 3 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
