Obituary for Carol Renner (Seelinger)
Carol Seelinger Renner, 81, of Belle Valley, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday August 28, 2021 following a brief illness. She was born in Erie on June 16, 1940 a daughter of the late Victor and Loretta Haag Seelinger.
Carol graduated from St. Benedict Academy and went on to work at several ophthalmologist offices. She also worked in child care for several years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling, cruises, gardening, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathy Zimmer, Mary Jane Dahlkemper, and Shirley Piotrowski.
Survivors include her husband of over 59 years, William A. Renner; one son, Gerald Renner and his wife, Laura, of Warren, PA; one daughter, Jill Sharp and her husband, Randy, of Irvine, PA; two grandchildren, Garrett Renner and his wife, Amber, and Lilya Troutman and her husband, Gavin; two great grandchildren, Henry and Harvey Renner; one brother, Robert Seelinger and his wife, MaryAnne, of Falls Church, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church,1553 E Grandview Blvd, Erie, PA 16510, for Masses in Carol's name or to a charity of one's choice.
