Obituary for Martin D. Stolz

Martin D. Stolz, age 95, of Greene Township, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021. He was born in Greene Township on August 4, 1925, a son of the late Frederick W. and Ida Rose Moritz Stolz.

Marty served in the United States Army during WWII, working on the Manhattan Project and received the Victory Medal. He worked as an industrial carpenter for Erie Forge & Steel, Inc., for 38 years, retiring in 1989. After his retirement he enjoyed working at the Pennbriar Club for 28 years. Marty was a past member of St. Boniface Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael J. Stolz; his great-grandson, Robert Michael; his brother, Raymond Stolz; and his three sisters, Florence Irish, Helen Ottway, and Frances Stolz.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Agnes A. Sullivan Stolz; his daughter, Katherine Stolz (Scott Halloran) of Erie; his five grandchildren, Mary Beth, Billy, Julie, Katie, and Rachel; his six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial were private in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, 16504.
