Obituary for Gary N. Aldrich
Gary N. Aldrich, age 72, of Erie, passed away Saturday, May 01, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Meadville on January 5, 1949, son of the late Norman W. and Nellie Niemynski Aldrich.
Gary graduated from East High School in 1967 and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked for General Electric for 37 years, retiring in 2007. Gary was an avid golfer and had a hole-in-one at Elk Valley Golf Course. Gary was active in coaching MYAA football and McDowell football boosters. He was also an avid country music and NASCAR racing fan and he enjoyed driving his muscle car around town. He was a loving husband, father, and papa. Gary took great pride and joy in his children and grandsons.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, William A. Aldrich.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Kendrath Aldrich; his daughter, Heidi Aldrich (Ryan Buchkovich), of Erie; his son, Todd Aldrich (Tiffany Glenn), of Greer, SC; his grandsons, Corey and Gavin Fritts, and Grady Buchkovich; his sister, Bonny Henry (Skip), of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial were private in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd.
