Obituary for Betty J. Weber (Wells)
Betty J. Wells Weber, 96, of Erie, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at Saint Mary’s Home of Erie. She was born in North East, PA, on August 10, 1924, a daughter of the late Ralph and Florence Bimber Wells.
Betty graduated from North East High School and worked at Union Bank as a bank teller. She was a past member of St. John the Baptist Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She loved reading, crafts, and playing cards at Mercy Terrace Apartments.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Weber, Sr.; her three brothers, Daniel Wells, Donald Wells, and Robert Ehrman; and her granddaughter, Julia Ann Weber, in infancy.
Survivors include her son James F. Weber, Jr., and his wife Mary Ann, of Erie; her two grandchildren, Michael Weber and his wife, Angela, of Erie, and Stephanie Butler, and her husband Chad, of Rochester, NY; her six great-grandchildren, Brianna Connaughton, and her husband, Sean, Ryan Geiger, Caden Butler, Caroline Weber, Abby Butler, and Georgia Weber; her three great-great-grandsons, Damon, Lincoln, and Rhett Connaughton; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and are invited to prayer service there the following afternoon at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Entombment will follow in Mary, Queen of Peace Mausoleum. All current CDC guidelines will be adhered to.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Saint Mary’s Home of Erie - 607 E 26th St, Erie, PA 16504, or to Mercy Terrace Apartments- 430 E. Grandview Blvd, Erie, PA 16504.
