Obituary for Robert C. Wainwright
Robert C. Wainwright, 79, of Erie, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday February 19, 2021. He was born in Erie on July 2, 1941 a son of the late Joseph and Florence B. Trenouth Wainwright.
Robert graduated from McDowell High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in education from Edinboro University. He taught and coached football in New Castle before working for GE until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Sons of Lake Erie, the Siebenbuerger Club, and the CYS Club. He lived life to its fullest and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and reader. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and tinkering with things around the house and was a dog lover.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol B. Fabin Wainwright; two aunts, Sara Schultz and Marian Wainwright; and his uncle Bill.
Survivors include two sons, Robert M. Wainwright and Scott Wainwright, both of Erie; one daughter, Stephanie J. Link and her husband, John, of Erie; and five grandchildren, Douglas (Elizabeth), Amanda (Eric), and Timothy Wainwright, and Emme and Ava Link.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. All Erie County Covid-19 guidelines will be enforced. Services and burial will be private for the family.
