Obituary for Dennis J. Krumpe
Dennis J. Krumpe, 67, of Greene Township, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 after an accidental fall at his residence. He was born in Erie, on August 16, 1953, a son of the late Donald A. and Florence A. Lorei Krumpe.
Dennis graduated from Wattsburg Area High School in 1971 and went on to work for FMC Smith Meter for 45 years, retiring in 2019. He was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church. He was an avid reader and was known as an amateur historian of local and military history. Dennis was a loving father and loving husband. He was a kind and gentle man that loved spending time with his family and friends. Dennis enjoyed his cars, farm equipment, and attending car shows with Nancy. He always liked being outdoors, and would share memories of his time growing up on the family farm.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Nancy A. Vacanti Krumpe; his two children, Stephen Krumpe, of Erie, and Catherine Krumpe (Krystal), of Palm Harbor, FL; his two sisters, Diane Swanson (Bruce), of Erie, and Judith Sybyl (John), of Rolesville, NC; and his three brothers, David Krumpe, Norman Krumpe (Bonnie), and Carl Krumpe (Shari), all of Erie.
Friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Church on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Mount of Olives Cemetery. All current CDC guidelines will be adhered to. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Boniface Church.
