Obituary for Jon P. Bean

Jon P. Bean, 75, a resident of the Barber Group Homes, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 16, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Erie on May 10, 1945 a son of the late Carl and Barbara Hall Bean.

Jon was one of the first Barber Center clients to attend public schooling and he worked for a number of years in the Barber Center workshop. He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Elvis. He enjoyed visiting with family, going to Disney World, and painting in which he sold some of his paintings.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Nathan "Ed", Thomas, and James "Daniel" Bean, and one niece, Katie Heidecker.

Survivors include one sister, Sharon Heidecker and her husband, David, of Erie; two brothers, Joseph Bean and his wife, Barb, of Erie and Richard "Dick" Bean and his wife, Betty, of Cranesville; his little buddy, Ron; and many nieces, nephews, and friends from the Barber Center.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic funeral services will be private. Burial will take place at a future date in Mount of Olives Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, 16504.
