Obituary for Thomas B. Lewis

Thomas B. Lewis, age 77, of Erie, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, November 15, 2019. He was born in Conneaut, OH, on July 6, 1942, a son of the late Burton Lewis and Edna Sackett Lewis Palmer.
Tom served 23 years in the United States Navy and later in the United States Coast Guard Reserves during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He worked as a shop worker for International Paper, Bucyrus Erie, and Hammermill Paper Company. Tom was a member of the Crawford/Erie County Police Department and worked as a security officer at the Erie Yacht Club and Siebenbuerger Club. He attended Elevate Church. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and collecting everything.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Schley, and his granddaughter, Faith Lewis.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Paula Bohun Lewis; his two daughters, Aleisha Canavan and her husband John, and Bethany Vaughn and her husband Dan, both of Lawrence Park; his six sons, Mark Mascaro and his wife Darcie, of Erie, Tom Lewis and his wife Linda, of Harborcreek, Chris Lewis, of Erie, Jacob Lewis and his wife Amy, of Harborcreek, Craig Lewis, of Erie, and Tom Wegelin and his wife Karen, of Arizona; his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd, Erie, PA 16504, on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of memorial service there at 7 p.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
