Obituary for Frederick J. Heidt
Frederick J. Heidt, 70, of Erie, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 11, 2019. He was born in Erie on December 19, 1948 a son of the late Herbert Heidt, Sr. and Polly Jensen Heidt.
Fred graduated from Cathedral Prep and attended the University of Michigan. He loved sailing and helped restore the Brig Niagara. He loved dogs, helped rescue wildlife, and cherished his dog-walking friends. He participated in many triathlons and loved spending time outdoors.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Heidt, Jr.
Survivors include one sister, Holly McGuire (Michael) of Pittsburgh; one brother, Martin Heidt (Sharon) of Seattle; and his beloved nieces and nephews whom he adored, Sarah Bagnoni (Dean), Andrew Heidt (Ashley), Molly Fallica (Chris), and Marty McGuire (Michele).
Calling hours will not be observed and a memorial service will be held at a future date. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, 16504.
