Obituary for Michael J. Burkett

Michael J. Burkett, 27, of North East, passed away unexpectedly on Friday February 16, 2018. He was born in Erie on July 9, 1990 a son of Michael Eugene Burkett and Sandra M. Griffith (Gary).

Michael was a 2008 graduate of Seneca High School and worked at Peek 'n Peek before working as an environmental technician with Clean Harbors. He enjoyed snowboarding, golfing, hunting, and kayaking.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his daughter, Aubrie Burkett, at home; his fiancé, Alyse Triana of North East; one stepdaughter, Lucie Triana, at home; one sister, Tiffany L. Burkett of Waterford; two nieces, Ariel and Tessa Downer; his maternal great grandparents, Nellie and Joseph Klick; his maternal grandparents, Rebecca F. Klick (Joseph) and Ricky R. Griffith (Tammy); his paternal grandparents, Kathleen and Charles Burkett; four aunts, Bonnie Griffith (Joe) of Wattsburg, Leah Wroblewski (David) of Wattsburg, Joleen Keith (Jason) of Findley Lake, NY, and Veronica Clingan (Joe) of Emporium, PA; two uncles, Ricky and Paul Griffith, both of Emporium, PA; and many cousins and close friends.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services there on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
