Obituary for Gertrude A. Novak (LaPrice)

Gertrude A. LaPrice Novak, age 95, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. She was born in Erie, on March 25, 1922, the daughter of the late Albin and Mary Jaworski LaPrice.

Gertrude was a graduate of East High School. She enjoyed gardening and walking. Gertrude was a member of Holy Rosary Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Novak in November of 1993, her sister Theresa Sowinski; her four brothers, Ralph, Walter, Ted, and Chet LaPrice.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Springer and her husband Joseph of Erie, her two sons, Paul Novak and his wife Joann of Erie, and Tom Novak and his wife Barbara of Santa Rosa, Calif.; her two grandsons, Mark Novak and his wife Stacey and Bart Novak; and two great-grandchildren, Brenton and Jordan Novak; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, PA 16504, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there the following morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Rosary Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
