Richard John Angelotti, 70, known to many as “Ange” passed quietly at his home on Tuesday May, 2, 2017. Ange was born in Erie PA on July 28, 1946. He was the Son of the late Norma and Leonard Angelotti. He was also proceeded in death by his daughter, Donna Michelle Angelotti.
Ange is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Laura Lynn Eicher Angelotti, two Sons, Richard Angelotti of Millcreek: Gregory Wells and his wife Amy of McKean: and six fantastic grandchildren: Kayla, Haley, and Jacob Wells: Mark, Bruce, and Lia Angelotti and a sister Cheryl Helsley and her husband, Joe, of Greene Township.
After graduating from East High School in 1964, he began his work career as a stockboy at the Boston Store. He also worked at Erie Plating, The Post Office, GE, and was a partner in a tuxedo shop before becoming a polisher at Amsco-Steris from which he retired after 32 years of service.
Ange also served in the Army Reserves for 6 years as Company Clerk for the Supply and Services Battalion.
He enjoyed gardening, playing softball, and his early favorite bowling, where he scored a 300 game as a part of a 774 series. He also loved to golf. He played in numerous tournaments and was a member of the LPAC league at Downing Golf Course.
Ange and his wife Laura have dedicated their weekends for the last 20 years to supporting family that own and operate Jr’s Last Laugh Comedy Club. Over the years Ange has mapped out, seated, and greeted thousands among thousands of comedy club guests. He was the “Go-To” guy for getting into a sold out show. His smiling face will be greatly missed but never forgotten at the showroom entrance.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services there on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, 16505.
