Condolence From: Jane Ignaczak Crawford
Condolence: Well mom, this has been quite the journey. Where to start?

Well, when you were surprised by the of birth of twin girls on dads birthday, your first words to me (the second one by five minutes) was, "Where am I going to put it?" I know this it true because you told that story many times over the years. Dr. Murski, who delivered me and Jean, had five boys and wanted a girl. He offered to take me off your hands. I could have been the only daughter of a doctor! Well I'm glad you found room for me completing your family of five.

I know I could never count all the meals you cooked, the school uniform blouses that were ironed and shoes that were shined getting us off to school every day. I am sorry about scuffing the shoes. Jean and I had the shiniest shoes. Really shinny. So yes we dragged out feet to scuff them. They really stood out. You even pinned together our shoe strings and washed them in bleach so they were really white. A lot of love went into these tasks. So thank you.

During our dating years you were always there meeting our dates. You also sat in the living room waiting for us to come home. I am proud to say Jean and I never missed a curfew.

One of my favorite things was the constant whistling when you were busy around the house. It was over four years ago I noticed the whistling had stopped. This was the first sign of your memory loss. So sad. So scary.

I know Bonnie would like to thank you for all the care, time and patience you had caring for her through her battles with MS. Oh wait. Never mind. She probably thanked you herself. Please give her a hug from me.

I loved our times together when I would come home for a weekend. We never stopped. So many things to do. So many people to see. So many lottery tickets to buy and scratch off. We put a lot of miles on together. Such fun.

This has been a long goodbye. The last time you spoke to me, and knowing it really was me, was over a year ago. I was visiting you at St.Mary's and was tucking you in for the night. You did not know me all day. As I told you goodnight you looked at me, patted the side of the bed, and said, "Here Janie there is room enough here to sleep with me."

A good final communication for sure.

Thank you so much for all you gave up to raise your family. Thank you for teaching me to cook like you. Thank you for the love of music, flowers and dance.
But mostly thank you for the lessons learned on caring for family, patience, kindness and most of all promptness. Because if you I am always fifteen minutes early for any appointment. that is a good lesson to teach your kids.

Love you more than you know.
