The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Maurice Vash can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Laurie Urraro Savoy
Condolence: To all those who have sent expressions of sympathy and condolences, on behalf of my mother, Diane Vash Urraro, I would like to thank you so very much. As she does not have a computer, she has asked me to convey how deeply moved she is by the outpouring of love and friendship. It is with great sadness that we laid my uncle to rest today; however, although our hearts are heavy, we are buoyed by the promise of the Lord that we shall all be reunited someday. I have known my uncle for 40 years, and I shall always treasure the many fond memories of him that we all shared. May we be comforted in the love and light of the Almighty, and may our grief and loss be tempered by the fact that Heaven is our real home...we are just passing through this world! Prayers and condolences to all those who knew and loved my uncle. God bless!

Condolence: Maury was one of the finest police officers and neighbors I have ever known. A man of true virtue and honor.

He will be sadly missed.

Condolence From: Eric Lawson
Condolence: I met Officer Vash back in late 1970s and he took me under his wing when I was a police explorer. We ended up on a high speed chase one night chasing a robbery suspect, and got our man about 15 miles outside of town. He inspired me to pursue a law enforcement career and I remember that night as if were yesterday. I fondly recall him as kind and caring officer, who was quite down-to-earth. I'm sorry to hear of his passing and extend my heartfelt sympathies.
