Winifred E.  Vogt (Roth)
Winifred E. Roth Vogt, 93, of Greene Township, died Tuesday August 27, 2013 at her daughter's residence following a brief illness. A resident of the Erie area all of her life she was born in Erie on January 24, 1920 a daughter of the late Arthur and Lula Felbinger Roth.
Winifred was a graduate of Erie Commercial Business College and went on to work as a dairy farmer with her husband and brother in law at Telaview Farms for over 50 years. She was known to work as hard as any man and for cooking many meals that fed many people. She was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizens of Greene Township. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed crocheting and knitting, especially afghans.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence T. Vogt. Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Shelhamer and her husband Karoll E. "Gene" of Greene Township; five grandchildren, Beverly Kennedy and her husband Joseph, Paula Ganoe, Karen Odom and her husband Carey, Eugene Shelhamer and his wife Nichol, and Amy Shelhamer; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Wales Cemetery.
