Margaret Boyd Yurchak, 92, of Waterford, died Monday evening August 20, 2012 at UPMC Hamot following a lengthy illness. A resident of the Erie area all of her life she was born in Erie on March 17, 1920.
Margaret was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, gardening, puzzles, and going to auctions. She was beloved by many and everyone called her grandma.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Yurchak and one son, Thomas W. Yurchak, Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy J. Yurchak of Erie and Terry Yurchak and his wife Sis of Wattsburg; one daughter, Patricia Stankiewicz and her husband Lawrence of Wattsburg; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Boniface Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Phillipsville Union Cemetery.
