So sorry to hear of Paul's passing. He was a great guy who had a major impact on my life (whether he realized it or not). Paul was my advisor at EUP from 1978 through 1983. I was an "older" student, married with 2 young children, and holding 2 part time jobs when I enrolled in the Environmental Studies program. Paul always gave me sound advice, edged me into taking more geology courses, and set up an internship that eventually led to my first job at the Erie County Environmental Department. He hired me to assist on his Army Corps bluff erosion study of the Lake Erie shoreline, which I'm sure is the origin of my love for field work. My 30 year career as a consulting geologist in Connecticut stems from those early days and Paul's direct influence. My deepest sympathies to Martha and the entire family.
