Obituary for Sara A. Fox (Peterson)
Sara A. Peterson Fox, 79, of Harborcreek, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 11, 2018 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Mt. Jewett, PA on June 29, 1938 a daughter of the late Carl and Grace Shaffer Peterson.
Sara met her best friend and love of her life, Jerry, in the summer of 1955 and they married on her 19th birthday, June 29, 1957. They had more than 60 years of happiness and adventures camping with their family and friends. They would travel the United States in their tents and campers enjoying life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, arts and crafts, painting, animals, and taking pictures. She cherished her time with her family and her backyard. Sara worked as a nurse's aide caring for her friend, Evelyn, for 18 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, June Frase, and four brothers, Carl, Bruce, Curt, and Wendell Peterson.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry F. Fox; two daughters, Julie Fox of Harborcreek and Janet Fox of Erie; two grandchildren Jared W. Fox and his wife, Ashley, and Carly Fox; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until the time of services there at 7:00 p.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 E. 10th St, Erie, 16511 or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, 16505.
