Jean S. Scheppner Manross, 90, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Independence Court of Erie. She was born in Erie on September 28, 1927 a daughter of the late Carlton and Gertrude Edick Scheppner.

Jean graduated from East High School and worked as a bookstore manager at Mercyhurst University which she considered some of her happiest years interacting with the students and faculty.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman C. Manross; one daughter, Mary Beth Manross; and one brother, Donald Scheppner.

Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Manross of Phoenix, AZ; one son, Donald Manross and his wife, Dian, of Oro Valley, AZ; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, 16504. Funeral services and burial were private.
