Obituary for Lavanna I. Kowalski (McQuaid)

Lavanna I. McQuaid Kowalski, 92, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 22, 2017 at Walnut Creek Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Erie on May 5, 1925 a daughter of the late Otis and Elizabeth Montgomery McQuaid.

Lavanna was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Kowalski; two sons, David Kowalski in infancy and Gerald Kowalski; four sisters, Mary Ellen Bartlett, Alice Barker, Josephine Beebe, and Mae Finch; and four brothers, Charles, Floyd, Walter, and Ronald McQuaid.

Survivors include two sons, Walter J. Kowalski (Ronda) of Rule, TX and Thomas Kowalski of Virginia Beach, VA; one daughter, Patricia Schofield (Paul) of McKean; seven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services there at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
