Obituary for Jerome "Jerry" Trott

erome "Jerry" Trott, 79, of Erie and formerly of Greene Township, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Sarah Reed Senior Living Center. He was born in Erie on May 9, 1938 a son of the late Louis and Helen Lorei Trott.
Jerry worked for the postal service as a letter carrier in Temple City, Baldwin Park, and Modesto, California and Erie before retiring as a Manager of Vehicle Services. He attended St. John's Parochial grade school, Wilson Jr. High School, and graduated from Academy High School. He also attended Modesto Junior College in California. He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. Jerry was an avid musician and loved playing music with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Clarence, Edward, and Lloyd Trott.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Barbara Greenman Trott; one daughter, Tanya Abplanalp and her husband, Dave, of Ft. Wayne, IN; four sons, Jerome Trott, Jr. and his wife, Tracie, of Wattsburg, Christopher Trott and his wife, Linda, of Erie, Jeffrey Trott of North East, and Theodore Trott of Erie, with whom he lived; 7 grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob, Tyler, Clayton, Randi, Samantha, and Alexandra; 4 great grandchildren, Alexis, Brayden, Christian, and Paislee; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
