Obituary for Raymond J. Angelo

Raymond J. "Ray" Angelo, 76, of Erie, died on the shore of Chautauqua Lake surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 4, 2017. He was born in Erie on October 23, 1940 a son of the late August Angelo and Ruth Eisweirth Angelo Robbins.

Ray graduated from Academy High School and went on to graduate from Penn State Behrend. He worked with G.E. for 33 years before retirement and was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves. He belonged to the RC Flyers of Venice, Florida and the Thermal-G RC Club of Erie. He enjoyed fishing and boating.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Carol Skinner Angelo; two sons, Mike Angelo and his wife, Gina, and Jeff Angelo and his wife, Deb, all of Erie; five grandchildren, Nick, Sarah, Nate, Jenny, and Jason Angelo; two sisters, Marlene Martin and her husband, Robert, and Carol Henry, all of Erie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to services there on Friday at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Thermal-G RC Club, 122 Eagle Point Blvd., Erie, 16511.
