Dawn Waldemarson Maxey, 63, of McKean, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Erie on March 18, 1954 a daughter of the late Carl L. and Janet L. Squires Waldemarson.

Dawn graduated from General McLane High School and served in the United States Air Force. She worked with the Office of Children and Youth for 10 years and enjoyed reading, fishing, playing cards, and crafts.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her niece, Kimberly Hare.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Waldemarson (Valerie) of Caribou, ME and Michael Waldemarson (Heather) of Saegertown; four sisters, Linda Wilkenson (Michael) of North East, Patricia Smith of McKean, Cheryl Bearden of St. Louis, and Barbara Clapper (Karl) of McKean; three brothers, Mark Waldemarson (Karen) of Orangevale, CA, Carl L. Waldemarson (Linda) of Edinboro, and David Waldemarson of McKean; nine grandchildren, Kaytlin, Cody, Landyn, Logan, Zachary, Mackenzie, Ty, Kyle, and Kendra; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 8880 Main St., McKean, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
