Rick Fogle, 63, of Erie, passed away, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at UPMC-Mercy. He was born in Erie, on July 26, 1953 the son of the late Richard J. and Betty G. Myers Fogle.
Rick was a 1971 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. After high school he entered the automotive field working for various local shops which lead to him opening his own shop, Bayshore Collision. He then worked for the Department of Corrections where he created and managed the vehicle restoration program at S.C.I. Albion, from there working for S.C.I. Cambridge Springs, as a correctional facility maintenance manager II, and later retiring as facility maintenance manager III with the Department of Military and Veteran’s Affairs at the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home.
Rick’s true passion was anything involving a motor, spending every free moment working on a Harley or a race car. He was involved in Radical Rick Racing, ending his career as a crew chief with a two time PDRA Top Sportsman World Champion and helping anyone and everyone along the way. Rick made it his business to make other people more successful. He was the rock for his family. He was the go to guy for his friends. He will be remembered as the guy who had an answer for everything. Rick touched many lives and will be truly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kim Fogle.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Kathi Kerr Fogle; his daughters, Megan Phillips (Michael) and Lindsey Fogle; his sisters, Bambi Palloto (Randy), and Diane Fogle all of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to Funeral Service on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
