Rose M. DeDionisio Meister Nims, 96, of Erie and formerly of Cider Mill Apartments, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Walnut Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Erie on August 13, 1920 a daughter of the late Antimo and Michalena Martino DeDionisio.

Rose originally owned Meister's 5 & Ten and went on work as a clerk at Pulakos Chocolates. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and a life member of the Siebenbuerger Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking, baking, and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert F. Meister; her second husband, Donald V. Nims; three sisters, Catherine Benacci, Victorine Frazzini, and Nancy Battaglia; three brothers, Eugene, Andrew, and Joseph DeDionisio; and her stepdaughter, Patricia Kaltenbaugh.

Survivors include one son, Robert A. Meister and his wife Sally of Erie; one stepdaughter, Barbara Allegroe and her husband, Robert, of Apopka, FL; one sister, Virginia Albert of Erie; three grandchildren, Christopher Meister and his wife, Lisa, of Columbus, OH, Brian Meister of Cleveland, and Robert P. Meister and his wife, Stephanie, of Richmond, VA; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Nora Meister; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Luke Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
