Donna Mae  Zalewski (Orloff)
Donna Mae Orloff Zalewski, age 86, of Erie, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Erie, on May 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Isaac Orloff and Kathryn Herbo Orloff Chimenti.

Donna attended East High School and worked part time as a cashier at Loblaw’s Grocery Store. She was a founding member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, the Siebenbuerger Ladies Auxiliary Club and a founding member of the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club. Donna enjoyed wintering in Florida, camping, snowmobiling, ceramics, crocheting, and traveling.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Richard T. Zalewski; her grandson, Ryan Zalewski; her stepfather, Joseph Chimenti; and her half-brother, Joseph J. Chimenti.

Survivors include, her three sons, Richard Zalewski of Riverside, CA, Carl Zalewski and his wife Patricia of Erie and Michael Zalewski and his wife Cynthia of Erie; one daughter, JoAnn Kay; four grandchildren, Brian Zalewski and his wife Brenda of California, Kiara Nelson and her husband Floyd of Georgia, Chad Zalewski of Erie and Anna Zalewski (Ben Woodard) of North Carolina; three great-granddaughters, Esmé, Ryann, and Reagan; and two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren, all of Canada.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie PA 16504, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Friday morning at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
