Obituary for Kenneth Rider

Kenneth  Rider
Kenneth Rider, 66, of Erie, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday May, 27, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in Mechanicsburg, PA on November 26, 1950 a son of the late Bruce E. Rider, Sr. and Shirley Fasick Rider.

Kenneth graduated from Fort LeBeouf High School and worked for Erie Crate for 26 years. He went on to work for Carlisle and Plastek and served as union president of the International Paper Workers #1529. He was a bingo caller for many years and was manager of the Crime Victims Center Bingo. He enjoyed hunting, bingo, and going to the casino.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Betza Rider; one daughter, Jennifer Rider and her boyfriend, Brian Smith, of Erie; one son, Justin Rider and his girlfriend, Allison Gilbert, of Pittsburgh; one granddaughter, Kaylee Butler; two brothers, Bruce Rider, Jr. of Johnson City, TN and Scott Rider and his wife, Kathy, of Erie; two sisters in law, Cathy Betza and Mary Betza-Nowakowski and her husband, Rick, all of Georgia; his mother in law, Veronica Silay and her husband, Steve, of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
