Karen Lynn  Hartner
Karen Lynn Hartner, of Erie, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017. She was born in Erie, on December 14, 1966 the daughter of Norma J. May Hartner and Junior C. Hartner (fiancée, Jane).

Karen was a 1985 graduate of Seneca High School. She worked as a cashier for Presque Isle Downs & Casino until the time she became ill. Karen enjoyed cooking, Presque Isle, outdoor photography, craft shows, painting, eagles, and spending time with family and friends. She was a volunteer for the Wattsburg Fairgrounds.

Karen is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Donald and Olive May; paternal grandparents, Clyde and Dorothy Hartner; and cousins, Shirley Ann Curtis and Donna Jewell.

In addition to her parents survivors include her brother, David Hartner and his wife Deanna; her niece, Masen; her nephew Blake; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and also by Precious, her beloved cocker spaniel.

Karen’s family would like to give special thanks to Larry May Jr. for all his help during her illness and to all of her friends who supported her through her illness. Also a special thanks to Beverly, Keith, Sean, and Rachelle.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie 16504 on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral service there at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Regional Cancer Center - 2500 W 12th St, Erie, PA 16505 or to a charity of one’s choice.
