M. Louise Cooper Luddy, 89, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at St. Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge. She was born in Cresson, PA on July 18, 1927 a daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen Ellis Cooper.

Louise graduated from Mt. Aloysius College and was a founding member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She was a current member of St. George Catholic Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards with her lifelong friends. She especially enjoyed being with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Luddy; one sister, Jean Lai; and two brothers, Tom and Richard Cooper.

Survivors include five daughters, Anne M. DeLuca and her husband, John, of Erie, Mary Elizabeth Diwik and her husband, John, of Naperville, IL, Clare E. Luddy and her husband, Brian Randolph, of Sylvania, OH, Carolyn T. Arneman and her husband, Craig, of Erie, and Barbara A. Patterson and her husband, Dan, of Lebanon, OH; four sons, Timothy J. Luddy of San Francisco, James J. Luddy and his wife, Laura, of Erie, Andrew J. Luddy and his wife, Mary, of Madison, OH, and Peter J. Luddy and his wife, Faith, of Royal Oak, MI; 23 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Cooper and his wife, Cookie, of St. Thomas, PA and John Cooper and his wife, Dorothy, of Round Hill, VA; her best friend, Margaret Sivak and her family of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. George Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m.. Burial will follow in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
