Donald L.  Ross
Donald L. Ross, 84, of Harborcreek, passed away on Saturday February 25, 2017 at Brevillier Village following a brief illness. He was born in Kane, PA on October 22, 1932 a son of the late Alton "Mike" and Freda Fragle Ross.

Donald was a 1951 graduate of Harborcreek High School and attended Penn State Behrend. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1952-1955 as a radioman during the Korean War aboard the USS Shannon, a DM-25, and was a member of the Tin Cans. He enjoyed going to Navy reunions. He worked at Eriez Magnetics for 42 years before retiring in 1998 as Director of Purchasing.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church where he served on the Maintenance and Building Committee and as an usher. He was past president of PMAE Purchasing Association and was a life member of the Zukor and Siebenbuerger Clubs. He belonged to the American Legion Post 571 and the Moose Club. He was cub scout pack leader in Harborcreek and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, baking, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years, Dolores N. Hinkler Ross; one sister, Imogene Ross Hinkler; and one niece, Sandy Hinkler Piotrowski.

Survivors include his wife whom he married on May 16, 1998, Donna Harman Ross; two sons, Michael J. Ross and his wife, Laura, of Waterford and David F. Ross (Lisa Widenor) of Girard; two stepsons, Douglas P. Nielsen and his wife, Lisa, of Erie and Michael D. Eades and his wife, Lisa, of Marion, OH; three grandchildren, James Ross and his wife, Mihaela, Victoria Will, and Justin Ross; one great granddaughter, Sophia; five step-grandchildren, Kris, Dougie, Michael John, Chris, and Thomas; six step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Wales Cemetery.
