Obituary for Charles Theodore Fry

Charles Ted Fry, age 86, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Sarah Reed Retirement Center. He was born on April 26, 1930 in McKeesport Pa., the son of the late James and Hazel Lamb Fry.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a Staff Sergeant with the Strategic Air Command. Charlie was employed as a machinist at the General Electric Company, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the U.E. Local 506 Union Executive Board. He was the founding chair and a member of the G.E. Retirees R.A.G.E.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Christopher; his daughter Michele; his sister, Jean Montrenes ; his three brothers, Glen, Conrad and Vince Fry.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 59 years whom he married June 29, 1957, Olga Maha Fry; his four daughters, Mary Fry and her husband Bruce Robertson of VA, Jane Fry of Rockville, MD, Alice Fry of Erie, and Amy Mead and her husband Leonard of Erie; one sister, Deloris Seperek, of McKeesport; five grandchildren, Zachary and Oliva Mead, Daniel, Andrew, and Joseph Emond; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may attend a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home., Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, Pa 16504.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania - 1507 Grimm Dr., Erie, PA 16501.
