Bertha Hilbert Corey, age 71, of Erie, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Erie, on November 26, 1945, the daughter of the late Michael T. and Mary Gallagher Hilbert.

Bertha was a member of the Polish National Alliance, Pulaski Club, and the Holy Trinity Club. She enjoyed country music and crocheting. She loved being with her family. If you knew her you loved her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Michael F. Hilbert, Robert Gallagher, and Leonard Berger; and her companion of 31 years, Bill Edwards.

Survivors include her two daughters, Bertha Crissman of Erie and Marry King and her husband James of Erie; her two sons Charles Corey of Edinboro and John Corey of Erie; two brothers, Edwin T. Hilbert of Erie and George W. Hilbert and his wife Peggy of Erie; eight grandchildren including a special grandson, Jacob; seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends, Joanne, Marty, and Judy.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of a funeral service there at 5 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
