Obituary for Joseph Pisano

Joseph  Pisano
Joseph "Giuseppe" Pisano, 84, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday August 2, 2016 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Mongiana, Italy on October 27, 1931 a son of the late Graziano and Maria Raffaela Campese Pisano. He moved to the United States in 1947 before settling in the Little Italy neighborhood of Erie.

Joseph proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and went on to work with Marx Toys. Most recently he worked with G.E. for many years before retirement. Following retirement he volunteered with Joanna Connell School for a number of years.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling, winemaking, raising fig trees and cooking Italian food. He especially enjoyed family picnics and get-togethers.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Ann Klep Pisano; and one brother, Anthony Pisano.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Marie Malkamaki and her husband, Blake of Conneautville, PA; one son, who lived with him, Joseph A. Pisano; one grandson, who also lived with him, Kevin Joseph Pisano; one sister, Lucy Filipkowski of Brook Park, OH; four brothers, Mario Pisano and his wife Helen of North East, Victor Pisano of Erie, Bruno Pisano of Pittsburgh, and Bill Pisano and his wife Betty of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
